Okays...it's been a real long time since i've posted.Anyway, now i that i feel like it, i'm gonnna tell you abt my basic NCO camp!Bearing in mind that this was held like 2 weeks ago, you'll have to excuse me if i make any errors in the info.
Before i tell you what happened there, i'll first tell you abt how i got there.The night before, i was offered a lift to Bukit Batok MRT station by my friend(of course it wasn't HER that took me there, her father did and i actually thought, yes i THOUGHT,that they were giving me a lift to the campsite, HomeTeam NS.Oh well.)We agreed to meet my other friends who was also taking a ride the van at the nearby 7-11 store.Since those people were usually on time and dint waiting, AND i was a bit(only a bit!) late, i actually thought they left me.Of course i dint confess this small bit of info to my brother, who was accompanying me.Anyway, in the end my friend(who was giving me a lift) came and turns out, the people i was to meet up with changed their minds dint take the ride.
Okay, for the camp, i think i'm gonna skip everything and just tell you abt the hike, 'cause i'm lazy, of course.Wait.I forgot to tell you something.What is basic NCO course and camp?Well, it's something the zone 9 SJAB cadets do to train us so as to promote us to lance corporal rank.The camp is just torture, by the way.Every morning we had to do PT.I think it stands for physical training, i guess.we had to do pumping position for along time before even doing the push-ups.They also made us stretch like crazy...in the end on the last day camp they said that it was actually supposed to be a lot harder they took it easy on us because the night before we had our hike.
Yes.The hike.I almost forgot about that.Anyway, it was a 8 hour OVERNIGHT hike.Well, for the advanced NCO course, they had to hike for 12 hours(from the campsite,which is at Bukit Batok, i think, all the way to Chinese Garden and back.For us, we had to travel, i mean, WALK to around Bukit Batok East and all the way back.Which was FAR.I was the assistant cheer IC so it was quite fun for a bit of the journey but it became boring when we had to shut up because there were RICH people staying nearby.Gosh.Just 'cause they're RICH.Nearing the end of the hike(everyone was already walking like zombies), we had to pass through a canal in the middle of the forest in the middle of the night.They told us that we had to perk up and that of all the parts of our hike, this was really the one where we cannot sleep. They made us extremely scared( in my opinion, i think they purposely took that route).They told us to line up in one straight line and told us to hold on to our friends shoulders in front of us. They also told us not to look back, not to call any of our friends names, to be extremely quiet, to never let go of our friend's shoulders, not to switch on any lights and not to scream if we saw anything...so you can imagine how scared they made us.
Turns out, the walk was EXTREMELY long and boring and even my platoon sergeant confessed that she slept while walking.Anyway the rest of the hike( and camp) was pretty much long and boring.
